NM, gametracker made it look like UConn scored a 5th run. Somone running stats for WVU didn't put the last out in correctly.
 
Mazz lead off single in the 7th. Fuller singles to LF and Mazz aggressively takes 3rd. Fuller follows suit and takes second on the throw. It's funny how different a game can go when aggressive base running pays off instead of killing innings.

Wild Pitch allows Mazz to score and Fuller to go to third.
 
9-3 UConn now. Manufacturing a lot of runs right now culminating in a few gifted runs due to Wild Pitches. Going bottom 8 now.

Moore was walked to start the inning apparently.
 
Verdi singles and brings home Ferriter (doubled earlier) and Moore

sounds like on heck of a day today up at wvu. we were up 8-2 in the 7th for finishing off the first game and won 10-7??? chesus did we throw a hs kid for the last 2 innings? still don't like how up and down our bp seems to be. sounds like the bats and agressive play were great for us. now 2moro we have to play agressive with nothing to lose. a 3 game sweep without ward would be a great way to turn up the heat on making a run this season.

Well, they've got a good cushion again.
 
A sweep would be huge. Gives them a chance to be over .500 heading into their second Big East series.
 
Tabakman getting touched up in the 1st. Just 1 run in so far but runners at the corners with 1 out. Per WHUS, every batter has hit the ball hard.

Edit: After a mound visit, Tabakman got the next two batters to pop out and ground out to 2nd. Tied at 1 after the 1st.

Gametracker is down for those trying to follow that route. WVU just went down in order in the bottom of the 3rd. Still 1-1

Edit 2: Couple singles to lead off the top of the 4th. Pavone drops down a sac bunt and the Catcher tried to cut off the lead runner at 3rd. Bases loaded with 0 outs.

Double play. Whomp Whomp. Runner at 3rd with 2 outs. 2-1 UConn
 
UConn blowing it open 8 - 1 bottom of 6th. Hope they can hold on for a sweep. Would be a great way to open BE season.
 
Final 8 - 1. Nice way to start the BE season. They also swept a series without the #1 ( Ward) pitcher taking the mound. Need to get 2 wins against UHart and CCSU this week.

Win the 2 OOC games this week and they get over the .500 hump. Hopefully they can leave their early season fielding woes behind them when they start playing in more familiar environments.

and also a perfect way to send West Virginia to the Big 12.

for the stat people: we are now 25-23 all time against them.
 
we can't treat the new england ooc like other years and just go thru the motions with 2 and 3 deep guys getting innings. we have to rack up wins and gain expierence for our top 15 guys that we would potentially play post season wise.
 
I doubt we are going to get an at-large postseason bid with the number of losses we had out of conference. The Oklahoma and Oregon State wins are huge, and I liked the way we played vs. Mississippi State, but we had way too many losses (especially to the Big 10).

We played tremendously at WVU this weekend and clearly have a lot of young talent.
 
I'll also give a shout-out to Tabakman. Our starting pitchers and getting the job done and the line-up will improve. I still can't believe how GOD-AWFUL the bullpen has been all year. They have just been awful.
