OT: Wrestling gone wrong

I think as a society in general we have to start treating these attacks on people - especially when someone is defenseless - the way that we do.

This situation - the police should have arrested him on the spot - not sure if they did.

Just because someone has a uniform on doesn’t give anyone license to attack someone - especially when it’s “cold cocking” someone and hitting someone not expecting it. Hockey same thing.

I am tired of seeing these things happen - just think the seriousness which they are taken needs to be elevated by enforcement of laws and by the public, how we discuss it.

This was a crime that just happened to be done in public.
 
Jackson should be locked up and facing a decade behind bars but he won't. Lawlessness will increase and so it goes.

What he did was without a doubt premeditated. If the guy had died, an argument could've been made that he planned on beating the crap out of the guy, but didn't consider he could die. But he planned to do exactly what he did.

If you plan an armed robbery and someone ends up dying, it is 100% on you. It might not be premeditated murder, but it is first-degree murder.

In this case, I'd be in favor of putting the kid in jail for the rest of his life and the father in jail with him for just being a stupid terrible father.

The first part of your comment proves the point. He didnt think the guy would die which means its not premeditated murder. The intent has to be proven beforehand that he went in with the intention of ending the mans life so no attempted murder charges here.
Youre second point is also sort of incorrect. Yes a murder charge would be brought but it would not be premeditated. The premeditation was the robbery not the killing.
I dont think the "kid" should go to jail the rest of his life, but he should absolutely serve time in prison.

Didn't consider and didn't think are two entirely different things.

I don't think premeditated robbery is a thing.

I think you do criminal law for living, or otherwise have some kind of background in it, but I may be thinking of another poster. If that's right, feel free to correct me if any of this is wrong. Wouldn't it be second-degree murder? I think all you need is intention to cause severe bodily harm, or maybe just indifference to whether it was caused or not.
