WR Skyler Bell headed to the East-West Shrine Bowl (1/27/26 Fresco, Texas)

Love it! The more NFL eyes on him the better. Fagnano as well.
Chances of one or both getting drafted?
If neither, the chances of getting an NFL look in camp would still
be there...for both....likely imo.

Begging the question: Which has more prestige, Shrine or Senior Bowl? Could he be invited to both?

Senior Bowl by a mile. Senior Bowl invite is 95%+ chance of getting drafted.

It's the practices during the week with all the scouts in attendance that makes the Senior Bowl so valuable for exposure.

Saw a Mel Kiper mock draft and he did not have Skyler in his top 10 receivers. Time will tell but I think he made a mistake.

I know in one of the other threads a vid was posted (I believe by medic) of what appeared to be a scout saying Skyler "clap attacked" the ball when catching and that typically doesn't translate well to the NFL. I think this combined with the fact Bell is on the smaller side may be making people like Kiper pump the brakes a bit despite how good Bell was this year.

That's why bowl games like this one, as well as the combine, will be so important for him. I think the bowls (really, their practices) will allow him to demonstrate some of the intangibles (work ethic, leadership, etc) as well as his ability to compete against stronger competition. The combine will give him a chance to show how his speed stacks up against other WRs, which hopefully will help make up for his lack of size.

I still think there's a good chance he goes in the first 3 rounds.

His 40 time will be a big factor in where he is drafted, along with other measurements, at the Shrine Bowl and the Combine in Indy.
I have to tell you, if his 40 time is in the 4.4 range, he will be in the top 100 picks

go skyler! I am always so happy to see a humble little husky or block C appear every now and then at these events, among the sea of P4 logos that dominate.

wow, what an incredible representative for UConn.
Man, he just sounds like he has his S together and is ready to go excel at the next level! He's either gonna be drafted in the first 2 to 3 rounds or he's going to be like Cam Spencer next year, taunting people for not drafting him earlier after he makes some incredible play on the field lol

Certainly explains how he always high pointed and came down with the football

Good luck with showing the NFL what you have to offer and with your nfl career. I hope you do well and show the world what UConn is. Good luck again Skyler.
