... and how it has been stored and handled. In the current state of the technology, it isn't very appealing, but it is just a beginning.

I see no reason not to try some. It sounds like a technology/process that could have interesting and useful applications. Pureed and freeze dried meat and veggies that can then be turned back into something like their original form with the printer and laser cooked might make long term space missions more pleasant.
