Would UConn leave Big East for Power Five, Big 12 invitation? Here's what experts had to say (Dave Borges)

I think it comes down to how entrepreneurial UConn can be around football and academics. If it could build football as an independent, and progress academics toward AAU status, then it would become attractive to better conferences. With some noise around the ACC splitting, I might wait for that instead of getting tied up with the B12, especially if they're expanding west. An ACC successor, even if it lacks a few top schools, would be better than the B12.

The internally driven noise may always be rattling around an ACC split but the reality is seemingly a much different picture (… and 2036 is a long way away):

The Big 12 looks an awful lot like the AAC with Kansas and some crappy Pac whatever teams thrown in.
No, it doesn’t.

There are some similarities in geography, and a handful of the best AAC programs are now in the Big 12. But that’s about where the parallels end.

People really should stop making this comparison.

the AAC and Big 12 are very similar in almost every way except the fact that the Big 12 stomps the AAC in revenue, has a stable of real basketball powers and a bunch of basketball national championships, several name brands, a reputation, and a commissioner with a brain. very similar!

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?
