Fairfield wins the MAAC tourney and gets anything but an 8 or 9 seed. Since they are the host school in Bridgeport, that sends UConn to Norfolk or Bowling Green

What's the rule that states UConn can't go to Bridgeport if the host school is also there? Couldn't they both be sent there.

If Fairfield gets in there are two ways UConn plays in Bridgeport
UConn is a 1 and Ffld is an 8, 9, or 16.
UConn is a 2 and Ffld is a 7, 10, or 15.

We just might get screwed. Fairfield actually might be the best MAAC team this year and the perennial power Marist stinks.

How bad would this be? Ffld gets in as a 12 or 13 so the teams playing would be 4, 5, 12, 13. Ffld draws about 200 per game. Harbor Yard would be empty.

The bracketing rules allow the committee to move a team up to 2 seeds for various reasons. So an initial #14 seed, could be moved to #16, and an initial #11 could be moved to #9.

But if that doesn't work, then I bet Rutgers ends up there. And/or Delaware.
