I always choose against double letters if there are other reasonable options. I’m gonna have to rethink that.

I do the same. Still think it's the right approach. Eliminates more letters. Wordle has just thrown us loads of double letter (and one double, double letter) words lately.

I overthought this one. I immediately thought "write" on line 4, not thinking of trite. Then I figured Wordle wouldn't use such a common word. So I was going to go with "liter", but then thought which spelling, US or UK, as both are legal Scrabble words. So I looked for something else, and "inter" was of no help whatsoever. If I went with my first instinct, it's a 5.

Hardest 4 I can recall. I had good guesses. Burned my second because I was drawing a blank after one. Getting that I in that spot was actually unhelpful.

One of my bad habits is entering the first decent guess that comes to mind, instead of waiting a bit longer to see if there's a better guess that would eliminate more words. But then you get a time like this, where the first word to come to mind ends up working, and the bad habit is reinforced.

Actually was going use “tryst” as my third guess but thought “troop” was more likely. Wrong.

I thought of midge for line 4 and figured it too obscure for them to use. Silly me.
