"LASSO" was a bit of an odd guess for me to make. Even more odd, to me, is that if Wordle Bot is right, it's not actually in Wordle's list of potential solves.

Ah, something i can procrastinate chores with... so far I count 103 words ending in y. This was puzzle 881, which gives us 11.7% of the total words used so far.

Going to wordfinder and filtering for 5 letter (Scrabble-approved) words ending in Y, there are 986 possibilities. Filtering for only 5 letter words gives us 9376 words.

986 / 9376 = 10.5%

Interesting! If I wasn’t so lazy, I would do the analysis for all these double letter solutions.

As of today, November 17, 2023, there are 2,309 possible solution words in Wordle. This is out of the approximately 13,000 five-letter words in the English language. The original number of solution words was 2,315, but six words were removed from the game's solutions in 2022 for being either offensive, outdated, or using non-US spelling.
