While being under .500 doesn't prevent you from the WNIT, with Harfford 1 game under (being under .500 IN CONFERENCE does, Jen was 8-8) it probably kept them out. Each conference has one automatic bid, and then they do an NCAA like process for the at-large teams.

They claim that financial concerns don't affect the choices, which could be, as I would think Hartford would be a financial good choice.

Yeah, I know the season was not good and I completely understand them not being selected, but they did finish strong as the runner up in the con. tourney. My comment was not a complaint, just an observation.

Things haven't been strong at Hartford for a couple of years. Couple of other schools passing HU as the second programs attracting attention in state.
