Women’s Team Makes HE Tournament

Here’s to hoping the women have their own “Miracle on Ice.” Remember, the 1980 USA team beat the Soviets(BC) in the semi finals. Finland was the victim in the Gold Medal game.
 
It'll be UConn/Northeastern tomorrow for the title NE beat Maine 2-1.

UConn was 1-2 vs Northeastern this year....time to even it up. Game is tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. on NESNPlus. I plan on being there to support them. My wife even agreed to go!

Too bad they can't offer a stream on this for CT fans esp in FFC. Seems a little petty to hold the line on the subscription when that isn't an option for us. AD dropped the ball on not getting a simulcast on Husky Vision.

Couldn’t agree more. Had fun seeing them in person. They gave it all they had, just couldn’t poke in the equalizer. Will definitely try to make some more games next year.
 
Just a word of encouragement to those of you supporting the women's team -- the Huskies have a really, really good freshman (Snodgrass) and have historically managed to bring in goalies that really punch above their weight.

UConn was the 7th best team in the country (NCAA, not just Hockey East) in KRACH over the course of January 1st onward. Three of UConn's top 4 scorers were FR and SO... they should finish above 7th in the league next year.

I'm splitting hairs here ... but there was no medal round knockout stage in the '80 Olympics. It was a full round robin medal round with the gold medal going to the highest point total. The US just played the schedule out in the order it was made.
