This site ranks Division I players Freshmen through Seniors.
Some rankings are unexplainable?
Seniors:
16. Azzi Fudd
Juniors:
KK Arnold and Ashlynn Shade are NOT ranked among 27 players!
Sophomores:
3. Sarah Strong
Freshmen:
Blanca Quinonez NOT ranked among 9 players!

Sarah is the leading candidate for NPOY, and she's 3rd in her own class of sophomores? Azzi is right up there as well and most likely an AA and she's 16th? And Blanca isn't considered by him/her as one of the top 9 freshmen in the country? Maybe the writer was high when they wrote it?

Cannot imagine how these rankings happen, but you know what? There are two benefits:
-- Maybe they can be used as an incentive for the players; and
-- Maybe (not likely, but maybe) an opponent will take UConn's players less seriously.

In any case, what will count (if anyone cares) is how the rankings come out much, much later in the season.

Some rankings are unexplainable?

Might be one of the dumbest lists I've ever read!

Well, the rankings being discussed are explained in the text of the blog, albeit perhaps not to everyone's satisfaction. The author explains that the rankings are limited to player performances from "the week of December 1st to December 7th, 2025", and that her weekly rankings do "not include players whose teams have lost in the current week."

This may be a quirky ranking approach, which is obviously meant to be dynamically changeable from week-to-week. Sort of like the various Players of the Week that conferences publish, except the blogger is doing it on a national basis and breaking it down by college class.

This blog's rankings will inevitably be different next week and each following week—and, speaking solely for myself, may slightly peak my curiosity but not likely my opinions and certainly not my emotions.

If you went camping and needed toilet paper this list would become important. It isn't just the UConn players getting shade, it is a lot of the top players in the country.

I'm a little confused about reactions this thread and the meaning of a question mark emoji, which I've never seen before.

I posted in this thread because got the impression from the first six posts, perhaps wrongly, that some folks thought the subject blog was presenting a list of the best players in the country by class—for purposes, say, of making a case for All-American teams or for WNBA draft order.

But that's clearly not what the blogger is trying to do. She's trying to present a weekly summary of the best performing players for each given week—by class, by excluding players whose teams lost for that week, and by trying to include players from mid-major schools that get little or no publicity on major ranking or mock draft sites.

I've never heard of the blogger and have no idea how "accurate" her weekly choices are (whatever that may mean). But I applaud anyone who puts in time and effort to try to bring informational visibility to players and teams in the sport of WBB. I'm certainly not hostile to or defensive about such efforts, and will be mildly curious as to whom she selects next week.

Makes sense if it's just a 1 week opinion, but still, both Azzi and Sarah are averaging close to 20 PPG which means they are likely getting that consistently. i'm not sure what games we played and if it only the 1 where Sarah had like 14 and Azzi had less, but who knows?

Definitely a different approach, but it's pretty impressive they're going in and ranking almost 100 players each week including players from much smaller programs that probably get no exposure elsewhere.
