I don’t know about “excited to see” but I’m extremely “interested to see” Azzi Fudd’s second year progression.

Can she develop into what was projected for her as a number 1 prospect? Can she play top-contender-level defense? Will the game slow down for her? (she looked a half/step slow last year to me. Not just physically but mental reflexes too) can she be THE leader? The go-to? She’ll get her points this season, but will the production be consistent against the top teams on UConn’s schedule?

I wonder if a full year of ball will give her back some quickness.

It should. First, she began last year with a lingering injury and was probably never at full speed. Second, she missed a lot of games late in her high school career due to injury and Covid. She was not really in game shape. Third, she’s was not ready for the speed of the gamelayers at the highest level. Few players are unless they have lightening reflex and quicks.

But oh the smoothness of her shot!

Also I am curious to see how being a primary ball handler might showcase her a bit more.
