Is that Maj Forsberg officiating this game? If it is I can't believe after the Baylor - ND debacle they would let her work ANY championship game.

Would not recognize the if she called a foul on me BB. Hope Rutgers wins. Thought it was plain southern bias by the committee to keep both SF and RU out of the tourney. RU up 26-16 right now.

Just turned it on at the start of the second half, and Rutgurs is up 32-16. Looks like its already over

.-.
On the basis of 4 3's, where I remember none attempted in the 1st half.

It is a great crowd and they are getting their moneys worth. 46-42 RU

Very bad decision by UTEP not to foul Tyler Scaif as she drove in - missed 4 of her last 5 foul shots, but RU prevails. 12,222 attendance .

.-.
Rutgers wins on a length of the floor driving lay-up by Scaif - but boy that ref on the baseline - two really questionable fouls on Rutgers in the last minute on rebounds and then no foul on the layup when Scaif was clearly hit - luckily she made the basket!

Congrats Rutgers!! WNIT Champs!/quote]

Whew Whoo-hoo!

we like to call it a Swanier like drive here in Huskies country!!!!
I don't recall swanier hitting a coast to coast layup, through all 5 defenders, to win a game. Ainge, however, has one of the most famous in NCAA history.

It was in the famous game at DePaul when UConn was toast . . . then Maya made a steal and
called time out . . . and then Keisha went coast to coast for the game winner. Mehgan Culmo
correctly predicted that the DePaul would be reluctant to foul so UConn should get the ball to
our fastest player and let her dribble up court, rather than running a play for Maya.

. She came close to coast to coast, against almost all five defenders, to beat DePaul in 2008.

After a precocious freshman who hates to lose and plays harder than anyone ran down the DePaul player and stole the ball unexpectedly. Geno said: "Who does that? No one does that. But Maya Moore did that."

1 of the worst officiated WBB game I've seen.....they tried to rob the better team by a mile....SDS was robbed there in UTEP's previous game too!! FT's UTEP 30 SDSU 13...UTEP 30 RU 12...coincidence? Tell me another joke!!

I dvr'ed the game and watched it Saturday night. My freakin' dvr quit recording right at the end of the game with the score tied. I had to go on the internet to find out who won. LOL!

Sorry for bumping this so late, however, I was in the middle of moving cross-country and didn't have access to my computer until now.

I am so proud of this team! I know it's a long shot away from being a NCAA title....but winning this could be a huge step back where we were 7 or 8 years ago. So so proud.

Now that the partner and I live in B1G country, I fully intend on making down to OSU whenever Rutgers comes to play. :)

The UConn Men's team used the NIT championship in 1988 to springboard to national prominence; As have many teams. It is not as far away from a NCAA Championship as it seems. It can be easily argued that he NIT Champion, in any given year, is at least as good if not better than 25% of the automatic qualifiers; Especially those with losing records who slither in through the back door. Rutgers winning the WNIT and USF also making it to the Final Four keeps alive the argument that they were snubbed by the NCAA. I think it is good for the women's tournament that there are discussions/controversies surrounding snubs.
