WNBA all defensive team

Parker (media darling) voted DPOY by the media. Coaches picked these teams.

Me thinks I'll pay attention to the coaches here, particularly given everyone is hanging in the same area while many of the press are (just) seeing feeds.

Save for positioning on first and second teams, a lot of these names correspond to whom I would casually make note of while watching games. Clark is awesome....the proverbial "great glue" player every championship team needs. Napheesa has turned into a beast with those long arms (similar to Stewie). And my fellow ND alum Brianna Turner had a stellar year anchoring the Mercury's defense.

On the final game telecast, they were saying that Alex said Napheesa's reach is 6' 8" which is
fantastic for a 6' 1" player

Regarding the 2 teams, I agree with almost all the players picked, though I didn't expect Laney to be on it. I'm not saying she doesn't deserve it, I just didn't notice. I know that all the others are good defenders and showed it.

Laney was known as a defensive specialist before she had her offensive explosion this year.

Thanks! I wasn't aware of that. I thought she was great this year. I still had Hines-Allen as the MIP, but Betnijah was very close in my mind.

Well, I think what tipped the scale for Laney and MIP was that she was cut in 2017 and had season ending injuries in her history.

It's not getting mentioned, but 2019 DPOY Natasha Howard also did not make 1st or 2nd team by the coaches this season.

Both teams on fumes. Seattle probably sipping margarita's
