WNBA 3 point shooting leaders (the Husky on the list is not who you think)

Yeesh. For UConn in 2017-2018 she was 60.6% from the field overall but 17.6% (9 for 51) from three.

I remember all of those 42 misses.
Z transferred to UConn with a reputation as a Big who could shoot 3’s. At Duke she shot .286 as a freshman, but increased it to a very respectable.358 as a sophomore.

After sitting out a redshirt year at UConn, as you point out, Z’s 3-pt shooting fell to a paltry .176. Z did shoot over 60% from the floor during her 1 season playing at UConn, mostly from inside the paint, but this created a problem with UConn’s rotation.

1st team AA Pheesa, maybe the best low post scorer ever at UConn, had to move outside whenever Z played alongside her, or one or the other, Z or Pheesa, had to sit.

Pheesa had a solid year as a junior. But unlike her sophomore & senior seasons, she did not earn 1st team AA, as UConn lost a tough game in OT to ND in the national semifinals.

It appears that Z has found her 3-pt shot again. Good for her. But it sure would have been nice if she brought it with her to UConn for the 2017-18 season. :(

I wish she had shot better from 3 that season, also. But my first thought with Azura will always be her great 2nd quarter against ND( 10 points, 6 rebounds), leading UConn from down 10 to up 7 by half time. And, though she only played the last 3:30 of the third, quickly scored another 7 points. She did not attempt a 3 in that game.
UConn would not have even made it to OT without her. Of course, if she played more minutes...... Then she said goodbye.
