In Dallas Coach Miller told a few of us at the Husky hotel bar that UK was the MUCH better match up. He said our quickness would cause lots of problems. He said we would keep Randle from going to his left and he wouldn't be much of a factor. He said this Sunday night before the game. Either he is omniscient or he and the staff know a crap load about CBB.

I hope they are omniscient...probably easier to win that way.

I definitely wanted to face Kentucky.
Its odd how some fans want the path of least resistance while id rather go against other heavyweights in the tourney. There is nothing more satisfying than beating a Duke,UK,MSU,AZ on our way to a championship. I fear playing no one even if they are percieved as better than us.

Hell no! I wanted UK BAD! It would be the most perfect end to the season beating them and it worked out exactly that way. sounds like you and all the fans you were with were a bunch of scaredy pants:p Dont you know? UK and Squid are our b!tch!
Whoa Whoa Whoa lets get this straight we all thought we could beat either of those teams but between Kentucky and Wisconsin i thought we would beat Kentucky by less thats all. Another Big factor as to why i rather play Wisconsin then Kentucky is because i cant stand Kentucky and love watching them lose

So did you want to meet Louisville again in the tourny? They clearly showed the most resistance towards us :p

After we completely demoralized Florida it didn't matter who we were going to face in the finals. That's just how it felt.

That's how I felt, never felt so confident going into a huge game.

I know… That's what was so amazing about that run…

Most of us went game by game, just hoping to somehow miraculously survive & advance to the next round. Then we get to the Championship game & there was a collective confidence that we couldn't lose.

A run for the ages, as they say...

One guy posts this gem about Wisconsins offense and that which Ollie runs here:

"Not when talking about an offense that will provide the floor spacing needed for a 6-10 center to get his points in the post without having to be worried about double teams vs an offense that doesn't use big men aside from fouling and rebounding"

Someone posted a great response:

"If that is the only factor you might have a point.
If I'm Kevin Ollie I might drop the following names: Andrew Drummond, Hasheem Thabeet, Hilton Armstrong, Charlie V, Emeka Okafor. Those are the UConn bigs drafted in the lottery in the past 10 years.

Here is the list of UW bigs drafted in the lottery in that stretch:

Lol! To which the response was as follows:

"were those guys lottery picks because they went to Connecticut or because they were good players?"

The thought over there seems to be Stone is likely coming to Uconn which is funny because some have it as a foregone conclusion while the general consensus here is its 50/50. I dont follow recruiting but i must admit this is quite entertaining.:D
Sometimes the way a team plays allows them to win in college but doesn't mean they get a player ready for the way the game is played at the next level. You see a lot of athletic high school bball teams play full court press the entire game, something you don't see in college. look at college football teams that run the option and have the quarterback run a lot. Nobody in the NFL plays that way. Uconn plays a NBA style game which is why so many go onto the NBA.

If it was Louisville, I would have been sh!ttingn myself. That team was just a terrible matchup all around. They neutralized our greatest asset by having small quick guards of their own.

You're right & I agree… I was speaking in terms of knowing that we were going to play either Wisconsin or Kentucky in the Championship game.

If Louisville had still been alive, I wouldn't have wanted any part of them, either.
