The 2nd-to-last column is as follows....
As a very quick experiment I attached some points to these records:
(Wins vs top 25 = +5, vs 26-50 = +3, >50 = +1
Loss vs top 25 = -1, vs 26-50 = -2, >50 = -5)/
I did NOT spend time thinking/refining the idea, but not terrible for a first pass.

Hmmm. Stanford: 1-5 Vs top 25. Who could have lost to them??????

Hmmm. Stanford: 1-5 Vs top 25. Who could have lost to them??????
And how could that have happened? Maybe someone ought to ask Geno about that!

Not a bad general rating, although as with any system there is a big disparity over top and bottom teams in a category, and maybe not much than a KY that was not in the top 25 this morning (but now is) and the #26 team George Washington that has the same score as KY right now at 86.51. So if the rating had been done this morning, UTenn would be around Baylor's score. Not sure if beating KY (which has been done by teams like Illinois and Mississippi) should be worth the same as beating UConn or ND.

But with more gradations maybe that's a decent way to look at the teams.

A few years ago (when I guess I had more time on my hands!) I came up with a few formulas and used them on alternate entries to the ESPN NCAA WCBB Tourney bracketing contest. The same formula put me in the top 1% for the two years I used it (the top 1/10th of one percent one year!).... I can't recall the specifics, but I remember that the biggest weight was given to road wins against Top 25 teams.
