Wings' Paige Bueckers mocks Liberty star during Tuesday's game

It's called "Playful Paige". Paige certainly rmust respect Jonquel and what a great player she is but at the same time she tries to not forget that basketball should also be fun not always "do or die" or "in your face". Being lighthearted can make the sting of the bumps, grinds and bruises of playing in a compressed schedule of games just a little easier. So let's hope Paige keeps the playfulness as well as the fierce competitiveness as part of her playing days.

I sort of can't believe Paige wasn't T'd up. She went right over to Jones (who looks about a foot taller LOL) and did the gesture right in her face. I did not see anywhere if the Liberty thought Paige was disrespectful or over the line - or did they think it was funny?

BTW Paige was individually outstanding. I knew she'd be good... but this good? You go gurl!!

In a postgame interview, Sandy Brondello seemed un-upset by anything Paige did in that game. I couldn’t exactly tell what JJ wanted a review about, a push off maybe? That would be a bit ripe, in my view, given how Paige was handled on that drive. And the twirling finger gesture is always a bit ‘in your face’ in real time, a passive-aggressive accusation for the fans. All Paige really did was offer her own passive-aggressive defense for the fans.

I’d say Paige has begun letting her inner Diana out on a longer leash. Let the sarcasm reign.

Brondello had no issues with Paige. Click to the video on the 2nd page

To me, she's coming through on her statement during the Espys about Diana making it okay to be more of herself, so the speak. 🤣
