Obviously someone jumped the gun in saying that Natalie was ready to play. I can't blame them for wanting her to be 100%. You don't want another injury and have to redshirt her.
Is it even allowed for her to redshirt (other than a medical redshirt - would be required to have a legit season-ending injury) after taking the transfer year off?Obviously someone jumped the gun in saying that Natalie was ready to play. I would think so since last year doesn't count against her eligibility. Stamfordhusky seems to know the rules the best so perhaps he can chime in, but as I understand it, the eligibility clock is basically stopped during that transfer year off.Is it even allowed for her to redshirt (other than a medical redshirt - would be required to have a legit season-ending injury) after taking the transfer year off?
In the end I think Butler comes back on the original time table which was end of December. There's one game on Wednesday, and then another right before Christmas, so if she doesn't play in either of those games it won't be until the end of the month as originally planned.Obviously someone jumped the gun in saying that Natalie was ready to play. Basically no. She has 5 years to use her 4 years of eligibility. The only way she could sit out and still have 3 years eligibility left would be for her to apply for and be granted a special exemption ruling to give her a 6th year to use her 4 years of eligibility. It's happened but is unusual. Under normal circumstances, she's got 3 years of eligibility left and three years to use them.Is it even allowed for her to redshirt (other than a medical redshirt - would be required to have a legit season-ending injury) after taking the transfer year off?
