I think if you can get to the bye week at 2-4 then winning 5 games becomes doable. If you can win 6 games with as bad as the defense looked last season then Edsall should be named AAC Coach of the Year. JMO but winning 4 games is imperative to selling the rebuilding/getting better storyline. If this team self destructs and wins under 3 games it could set the program back to a spot it can not recover from. I sincerely hope that is not the case, because a competitive UConn Program is good for Northeast Football.

I hope that everyone understands that UMass might not be a walk-over. You could make a case that UMass was far better than UConn last year.

Outside of beating URI, there are 7 games that UConn has a shot at winning. Cuse, Cincy, UMass, Tulsa, ECU, Temple, SMU. The rest are losses.

Assuming they win 3 of the 7 puts them at 4 wins total.

More than 3 will be tough unless there are a couple of immediate starter grad year transfers coming in for the front 6 (seems strange to write that). I predict 3 with the currently anticipated roster. Too many freshman and sophomores are going to get playing time to expect more. But this will be a far more experienced team in 2019 and, especially, 2020.
