Breanna Stewart entered Saturday night with 369 blocks, one behind Kara Wolters for second place on UConn's all-time list. Wolters had 370 blocks in 137 games, 1994-97; Stewart was playing in her 140th career game Saturday. It took Stewart 5:05 Saturday night to get block No. 370 and 53 seconds later she got No. 371.

The all-time leader is Rebecca Lobo, who had 396 blocks in 129 games, 1992-95.

Stewart began the season with 288 blocks and was No. 5 on the all-time list. She has passed Tina Charles (304 in 152 games, 2006-10) and Kiah Stokes (325 in 146 games, 2011-15).

Stewie now has 377 blocks. So, with hopefully 10+ games to go, Stewie will need to average but two blocks per game to become the all-time blocks leader at UConn.

Will she do it?

YES she will!

So, at least we'll be able to see at least one slam dunk by Stewie before she leaves.

She is also on pace to get 400 assists and 400 blocks. Since she is the only player to get 300 of each, that record would last a long time.:)

Yeah, that stat has been making the rounds for months now (mostly on tv broadcasts), but I'm not sure where it comes from: Cheryl Miller had 414 assists and 320 blocks. Maybe Stewart is the only player in the last 20 years?

ABSOLUTELY!!!! ;)

Side bar: technically speaking, to break a record, if have to do it in the same amount of games or less.
But Breanna will break/set the career total rebound record, regardless of the number of games it too her to do it.

I was wondering about this too, but Jim Fuller (the first person I recall discussing Stewie's membership in the 300 assist-300 block club) has since clarified:
"The NCAA did not counting steals and blocked shots as an official statistic until 1988. I didn't realize that when I did my research since neither Cindy Brown nor Cheryl Miller showed up in the blocked shots career list which is what I used for my research so that was a mistake on my part. I should have indicated that Stewart's accomplishment dates back to 1988 when steals and blocks were recognized by the NCAA."

So there you go. Stewart is the first player with 300 assists and blocks since the NCAA began officially counting blocks.

Ah very good, thanks for that, didn't realize.

With a condor wings span like this.
600x350

I think she'll get there. :)

19 more to go with 13 games left I'll say it's safe to say Yes with another record of 4 NC
