Any Cardinal fans out there with an opinion?

Yesterday: ND 96 Stanford 47! Yikes! Granted that ND is elite but the Cardinal record is not impressive overall...
something like 11-10.

They are not going to make it. Their schedule is getting easier. But I just don’t seem them making it. NIT bound.

They have 1 Q1 win (Florida State), 0 Q2 wins. They also have a Q3 loss (SMU).

That's a lot of ground to make up...

Nope--they're hiding. Had a lot to say last season, though (about their team and about Cal).

Sadly, whatever streak Stanford had in making it to the NCAA tournament ends this season. Unless they just go on a massive run and win their next 6-7 games and then win the ACC championship, which I don't see that happening. Stanford is sitting out this NCAA tournament season.

Cardinal v Cardinals today. Stanford played hard, got back into the game in Q4, which is a small moral victory.

Excellent recruiting class for next year.

Hopefully Coach Paye can rally the squad to finish above .500 with 6 games left on the season. Now it is just finishing with pride now. Finish the season winning four out of six and then hopefully make some noise in the ACC tournament.

So they are 11-12 on the season, with 6 games left and Massey has them 4-2 so they would finish 14-13 before the ACC tournament. The Cardinal have qualified for 37 straight tournaments, last missing in 1986-87. Their resume is not strong enough for any at-large consideration even with multiple "sentimental fingers" on the scale. Sadly, the streak ends this year.

Actually they would be 15-14, 11+4=15 and 12+2=14. Unless it's the new math, something that wasn't taught to me when I went to school.;)

Stanford just appeared on Creme's Next Four Out. A morsel of hope?
We'd need to win out AND beat someone Q1-worthy in the ACC tournament, at a minimum, and even then, I'm guessing unlikely.

Still, really enjoyed seeing five frosh and sophomores carry us through the OT win over VT. KP is doing a great job developing our young players, and hopefully everyone gels when Nunu comes back - ideally ASAP.

Would a deep run in the ACC tournament give them a chance?
Definitely. A good showing in the ACC tournament would boost their chances. Now how deep of a run would be up to the committee members to weigh those options but a good run to the Quarterfinals would help their chances a lot.

it looks kinda tricky. They'd probably have to win out. They're currently tied for the 10-seed with Clemson. So they're probably looking at the 9-seed, which draws Notre Dame in quarters... yikes. Ideally they win out but somehow keep 10-seed. Maybe losing to Notre Dame isn't so bad for the resume tho
