As in a game where he has 30 or more points and 15 or more rebounds. I say he will.

Doubt it, wonder who the last UConn player was who did this.

I mean he did drop an easy 20 on UCF haha but 30 is kind of a stretch. More realistically over/under 3 alley oops a game?:)

that my friend is absurd... and shame on anyone who calls this kid a bust... He's only been balling for a few years. Its incredible what he was able to accomplish last year.

I know he had that 20-8-5 in 20 minutes against SF. We all know now that he was basically hurt all year. He's got a smooth touch and you cant teach the fact that he will likely be the longest athlete in almost any game he plays in. So I believe he will have a real breakout game where he does something like 31 points 17 rebounds 4 blocks. I think he will avg 11-12 a game this year but hes going to have 5-6 games above 20.

emeka never scored 30 at uconn, let alone with 15 boards
Emeka's offensive game was always very mechanical (had to be in his spot with common routine) and it didnt develop in full until his junior year. We've seen more flashes from Amida offensively, though inconsistently, then we ever saw out of Emeka in my opinion, and particularly when comparing their freshman years.

God I love preseason. Everyone so brimming full of potential. 30-15!! I would put high odds on him not getting to either, let alone in the same game!

Ahhhh, in all seriousness tho, he looked like a freaking montster on First Night. Confidence out the roof.

I could see him averaging 11-6-3. That would be a monster season.

This thread is why the offseason is way too long. Too much time to dream. Some need a reality check. We should be happy if Brimah can stay on the floor for 25-30 minutes per game. If he can average somewhere in the ballpark of 10-12 points and 7-8 boards that would be great improvement from a year ago (and a realistic goal). 30 points and 15 boards, even for one game, is not happening. I haven't seen him in person since the National Championship after party, so if he's transformed into Shaq between then and now i'll happily eat my words.

He may have been mechanical but Emeka averaged 15.9 ppg his sophomore year and 17.6 ppg his junior year. I'll go on the record and say Amida won't average as much as either of those years before he leaves UConn. So put me in the camp that says he won't record a 30/15 game.

I mean Brimah put up 20 in one game last year, and apparently his offensive skills have really developed, so 30 points in one freak game is not out of the question. Pulling down 15 boards in the same game is an unreasonable expectation though. He's more likely to have 8-10 blocks in one game than pull down 15 boards.

caron got 29-15 in 2002 against stjohns(we lost). harder to look up as you get farther back

if he's able to stay in and play the majority of the game (i.e. get more than 20 minutes) he better grab at least 6 rebs... meaning 6 would be his low limit, not his average. I think point expectations should be tempered, he wont be a focus of the offense simply because we've got talented guards and hamilton, but he should be able to get to 12pts 8rebs most nights, with a few outliers over 20pts and 10rebs
