For futility on the professional level, let us not forget the Washington Generals.
Nobody’s making you watch the games chief. If it’s really making you this unhappy, find something else to do. We will miss your wit and wisdom on the board, but we can struggle through the rest of the season without you.please.......I have never seen anything so pathetic.....the results look like the 7th grade game I watched the other night.
It’s a lot easier to turn a basketball team around than a football teamSo if the basketball team came out like garbage starting the year going 1-12 would you advocate cancelling that season as well? You play because you have pride, and hopefully a set of balls. You cancel football mid season in a non Covid Year you might as well cancel all other sports as well. The entire AD would be finished for a decade.

Wow - captain negative himself does a deep dive to out another negative. This place is special.I wondered why someone with only 60 posts was a member for 10 years and was so negative (kind of a jackwad) so looked up your posts and here is the 1st two lines of your post of almost exactly 10 years ago:
"Let's face it.....on offense we have a terrible passing game with below average players and bad schizo playcalling. Hard to remember a more frustrating watch."
See you again in 2031.
The Ivy League took last season off, not real football teams. Shame on UConn for not trying harder to play some games last season. The rest of the country did and, well . . . they are still all here.Umm, because what we are watching is the result of taking off last season?????
But they don't. They don't get better. The season should continued so the boys can continue to practice and get better. It’s all about the grind.
They also didn't lose 75% of their scheduleBasketball didn’t cancel their 2019/2020 season because of a virus with a <1% mortality rate.
No, there was two other weak sheet programs. They also didn't lose 75% of their schedule
UConn football was not the only team to not play in 2020
Try reading what you write and you won't be able to say that anymore.please.......I have never seen anything so pathetic.....the results look like the 7th grade game I watched the other night.

Quitting is without a doubt the most pathetic response possible. Do you disagree? There is nothing positive possible. It is plain vanilla pathetic.
and some of the best BBQ right down the road tooSeems like Clemson might be having a down here by their standards. They’ll still destroy UCONN. Wish I could go. Awesome place and that area of SC looks special. TP could play against his brother.
Go Away!!No coach with a conscience should be taking a dime for being a part of this. This is not football, it's NONSENSE.
Agree I'm excited too..Exactly. Even in the first half there could've been some big plays if not for drops.
UConn won the 2nd half 21-10. I don't care if it was against Army's 2nd string. I don't think Edsall/Giuffre's offense does that. They brought in Mazzone, listened to him, installed some of his stuff, put in some new personnel, and got at least some results from it.
I'm looking forward to the next game.
Absolutely no attack here but sometimes facts are left out of some comments. It should be mentioned on why their season was ended short of a tournament or two.Basketball didn’t cancel their 2019/2020 season because of a virus with a <1% mortality rate.

Then find something else to do and stop your complaining as a season ticket holder I will continue to support the players and schoolplease.......I have never seen anything so pathetic.....the results look like the 7th grade game I watched the other night.
@Woof 101 you should charge him for that lesson.Absolutely no attack here but sometimes facts are left out of some comments. It should be mentioned on why their season was ended short of a tournament or two.
They finished the season 19–12, 10–8 in AAC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. Their season ended when the AAC Tournament and all other postseason tournaments were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4]
<1% mortality rate. Must have been in question.![]()
Why not cancel the basketball, hockey, baseball and soccer seasons, too? I'm sorry but that is stupid. There is nothing positive possible. It is plain vanilla pathetic.
Whiskey tango foxtrot??? Are u friggin' nuts, troll???There is nothing positive possible. It is plain vanilla pathetic.
I believe he is friggin nuts. Gimber, are you really a UConn football fan? Or are you a basketball fan who is pining when basketball was the BMOC. I love all of UConn sports. I remember seeing the hockey team playing an open air arena with snow on the rink. The fieldhouse. Now, I saw the glory days of UConn football and now, I want it back. We can and who knows - a Feista Bowl win against Oklahoma in the future??!!Whiskey tango foxtrot??? Are u friggin' nuts, troll???

It could be. That does not change the fact that the OP was literally advocating cancelling the rest of the season on the basis of losing. The very notion is ludicrous and actually doing so would strip legitimacy away from the entire athletic department for a decade. You wouldn't be able to hire a coach worth a damn in any sport. Now is not the time for half measures. Either be all in or all out. If the decision is to be all in, then go spend actual money to hire a real coach and staff. Invest in the program now or watch it all decay. It’s a lot easier to turn a basketball team around than a football team
