Wilson for Seahaws led his team to playoffs at 5'10 and is a rookie. Interesting...

It isn't a problem, the thing is you have to be good. If you're Russell Wilson or Doug Flutie you'll play

If you have been reading the board over the years 6' is too short for a college QB.

The teams with the mobile QB's are starting to run read/option in the pros. For what we run a short QB is at a disadvantage.

For what "we" run a QB of any height is at a disadvantage. For another team I would say you have to be a tremendous athlete with a cannon for an arm. Wilson is a high pro baseball prospect also.

I had read somewhere once that Drew Brees (who is from Texas) wound up at Purdue because the Texas schools showed little interest because he was too short. I guess it comes down to who is doing the evaluating.

He was a baseball product. He was awful after turning professional.

Brees and Manziel weren't recruited heavily because of their size, for some reason it has become the thought that you need to be 6'3 + and a dropback passer to be successful. This has all been turned on it's head, Russell Wilson should be the rookie of the year and is one of the best qb's in the league right now at 5'10.

He was awful the baseball season before he transferred to Wisconsin. He hit around 200 as a 2B. His stock took a huge hit. He dropped baseball for FB.

It's all a numbers game. If you run the right offense and have good playcalling(rollouts, stretch/readoption running game) it can work...

The usual suspects were spouting the 6' is too short for a D1 qb nonsense. Even when they were presented with evidence of successful "short" qbs, they just carried on.

In high school, anyone can look great. If someone is great on a highly ranked, high profile college (which Wilson was at Wisconsin - I never saw him play at NC State) they get a shot in the pros. That doesn't mean that you should start scouring the countryside LOOKING for 5'10" guys.

I believe Wilson is closer to 6". That said he had 2 stars and offers from only Duke and State.
