Butchy - think about it and the answer is obvious. Hint - it has nothing to do with where he was born or where his family is from, etc.

He was pretty much the Anthony Davis of that Bronze Brown team, that team still had more than enough talent to win gold, but Larry Brown was pretty much the worst hire that could've been made for that squad. Take an athletic group with limited practice time and force them to play halfcourt and go by his "play the game the right way" nonsense, instead of getting out and running and playing pressure D like what Coach K's groups have done. It also didn't help that he was being a hard ass and limiting Bron, Wade, and Melo's minutes because of their youth, despite them being the most talented players on the roster.

That team had the young superstars, before they became superstars. Melo, Bron, and Wade were babies, not the men they are today, which has certainly made a difference. They are a million times the players they were back then. Also, you are right, Coach K is a better fit than Brown. Still, I see a huge difference in what Melo, Bron, and Wade (who is not on the team) can do today vs. what they could do on that team. In other words, they've grown. A lot.
