I just read that Army FB players were at Giants practice but couldn't go on the field because that would be special treatment...

The biggest "benefit" for most athletes is the full ride....but EVERYONE at the Academies goes to school tuition free

The military academies agree to abide by the same rules in order to compete on a level playing field, even if the reasoning doesn't always apply to them.

Cadets actually get paid about $900 a month.
They only see about $300 ( varies with class ) in their personal accounts as the balance goes to pay for expenses like uniforms and fees.

From what I am learning here on the boneyard, NCAA rules don't apply to anyone. It's all a big smoke and mirrors show.

Back in the 40s and 50s they didn’t follow the rules. They regularly brought in players who had finished their eligibility at other places then played for Army or Navy and entered the military. It was wartime and immediate post war so it seemed like a logical thing to do. I think it was late 1950s, I think 57 for some reason but might have been earlier.

They have been shown to apply double to UConn.

Yeah what's with that. They seem to have it in for Uconn. Yet UNC got away with fake classes, most ridiculous thing ever.

Mark Emmert
President of the NCAA since 2010.
Former Chancellor at UConn. Was in charge of mismanaging the UConn 2000 programs to the tune of 100 million dollars and all sorts of fire code violations, etc. Left town just ahead of the lynch mob. Has had it in for UConn ever since.
