So I did a quick analysis of the Big East vs. the Big 12 regarding appearances on national TV using:

My definition of national includes:
ABC
FOX
NBC
CBS
Turner
ESPN networks
FOX networks
USA network
CBS networks
Conference networks (SEC, ACC, Pac-12, Big 10)

Here are the results (number of games on national network-including first game on whip around)
UConn (31)
Nova (31)
Creighton (31)
Xavier (31)
Providence (30)- TCU game on ESPN+
St. John's (30)- FSU game on Bally Sports Florida
Seton Hall (31)
Butler (29-31)- potentially up to two Battle 4 Atlantis games on ESPN3
Marquette (31)
Georgetown (29)- game vs. Green Bay on local FOX 5 Plus and game vs. Texas Tech on ESPN+
DePaul (29-30)- game vs. Loyola TBD TV and game at Duquesne on ESPN+

I only looked at two Big 12 programs to prove a point
Kansas- at least 7 games on ESPN+ (including 3 conference games)
Texas Tech- at least 11 games on ESPN+ (including 3 conference games)

This tells me two things: we never want to join the Big 12 and we should stay with FOX/CBS. The defending national champions play potentially more games behind a paywall than the entire Big East.
