Raff was in Connecticut last week and Roger Cleaveland spoke with him.

“He has found his own formula,” Raftery said last week. “Sometimes what works for one doesn’t work for another. But basically, guys like Dan Hurley or Matt Painter (at Purdue) have established a foundation and a set of core values that allows them to get guys who fit appropriately, and that is why they have been successful.”

I thought last year might have been Hurley’s best coaching year. He took a team that had severe deficiencies at key positions to the point where frankly, they should have…. Or rather…. We were in a position to….knock off the eventual national champions, Florida. We might have had a better opportunity than any other team that played them in tourney last year. That game was ours. Not saying we should have won.. lost fair/square but it was a battle.

I don’t mind Hurley sharing his life story but hope the frequent retirement /legacy talk goes to the wayside. That type of talk gets old fast… too much reflection not always a good thing…. Let’s talk BB and this year’s team.
