Who would you rather be?

Is it more satisfying as a fan to be where we are, or would we rather just buy teams?

No offense taken. There have been enough posts that show envy of the big money schools that I thought it would be prudent to ask if some would rather just load up with big money guys every year.

Whether that means the people who envy that budget want to be just like them I don't know. I'm sure there are some who wouldve wanted to replace some of our true blues judging by the way they were talked about pre-season. That's the temptation when you have SEC type money.

but i agree with you. the point here is that we have it pretty damn good in storrs.
Honestly id like to see just one time Hurley bring in a whole class of one and dones out of sheer curiosity of what he can do with them and itd also send a lot of Uconn/Hurley haters into a complete meltdown but would i like the program to be that? No. Those people envious of big money schools my only response to them is well thats cool but we got 6.

I think Hurley is threading a sweet spot with adding quality transfers and retention. It's not one or the other. He has talked about how you basically have to recruit even your own players year to year now.
I don't think just buying a team is less stress and in fact would argue that it is more. You just don't know how guys fit into a system (look at Mahaney). I think the more guys who return and stable the program the less stress/hassle it is for a coach. He knows what to work on and what weaknesses he needs to cover up.
As a fan, I prefer the retention of guys just because you get to hear the different stories and actually build attachments to players and invest in them somewhat emotionally. You root for the kids to have success on and off the court and not just for a team to win.
