Just for fun since we are in college sports' silly season and awaiting the Little League World Series . . .. If you could choose one p-5 school to play every year in every sport, who would it be?

Notre Dame is logical for wbb and would guarantee a football appearance on national tv - but, they have a pretty full dance card. Louisville would be pretty solid for mbb and wbb. Others???

BC and Syracuse make sense (to an outsider). Other former Big E's? Rutgers? Pitt or Penn State?

Seem like a General Board topic but a good thread.

It's sort of hard because every school don't play every sport. The three obvious schools are Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan. They have swimming and diving, hockey, lacrosse. Pretty much a one stop shop. Then you have the football, basketball and volleyball that everyone has. You can add Penn State too.

Probably Dook or North Carolina. UConn is big in basketball, field hockey, and soccer.

Hey hey hey

Don’t forget hockey, softball and baseball. I think Notre Dame matches up pretty well with our sports.

Nope. Don't see it as a good match in all sport, though I love the wbb matchup and wouldn't mind seeing baseball.

Baseball would be fun, UConn is very good and has been recruiting up a storm, and SC is a blueblood of sorts (Holbrook tried to mess it up but they seem to be back on track).

Football is an obvious no. MBB wouldn’t make sense either.

Would enjoy a very early season baseball series at Myrtle Beach.

There was some talk about Villanova going D1 in football. If that ever happens it would be interesting. Maybe competitive in hoops (at least when Harry was there) and competitive on the men's side. And a newbie D1 versus Uconn in football would be, well interesting. Close enough for all the other (non-revenueing) teams to bus to events instead of flying. (OK a long drive)

Funny story, my daughter a Vilanova MBA grad scored alumni tickets to a UConn vs. Villanova football game at the Rent. She shows up at the "will call" window with about 50-75 Villanova fans, and she was all decked out in her UConn gear. Lots of dirty looks from those wildcats. I thought it was hilarious. Too bad cats. :)
