One need I havent seen mentioned is a guy who can break the defense down on his own and get a shot. Our offense mostly doesnt need it but against really good switching defenses we do. And this year we have Castle, Spencer, and Newton who do that well.

We need a starting center, and a starting guard, and a decent backup forward if we are going to 3peat.

Assuming Karaban comes back we need a ten man rotation that can wear down other teams because we won’t have the likes of Newton, Clingan, Spencer, and Castle.

We are not playing 10 guys. The marginal minute is better off being the 31st minute for a starter than the 1st minute for your #10 guy.

You are correct. I was using @UCTitleTown 's numbers of 15 players and 380-something teams to show he managed to not use elementary rounding skills.

According to the NCAA web site and wikipedia there are 351 D1 schools and 15 players per team. 800 is a little over 2 per team. So 2 per team is closer. Some of y'all like to argue for no reason.

And by the way, the rest of it isn't that hard to figure out either.

There are 15 roster spots, but 13 scholarships. Everyone else is a walk-on unless the school does partial scholarships (no one does this any more). Walk-ons do enter the portal, so technically it should be 15, even if it's weird to think about guys transferring to D3 or JUCO as transfers IMO.

Also, by Titletowns math, there are 1.39 players per team in the portal, because he assumed there were 380-something D1 teams for some reason. I was critiquing his math. Yes, you are correct... sort of. By the ACTUAL math (which you also managed to mess up, Mr. 351 teams), there are around 2 players per team transferring so far.

Who again is arguing for no reason? Try harder, bucko.
