I watched that VHS all the time. “ a good foul shot starts with your toes and ends in your fingertips “I’ll add this one for me. As an ‘85 baby, anyone remember the VHS tape from IGA?

Jerry LucasJohn Havlicek. Still play is number 17 when playing the lottery or roulette. Loved Hondo.
Off topic, but here is a trivia question. His Ohio State basketball team, had 3 future Hall of Famers on it. Who were they?
Yes. Havlicek, Lucas and 1 moreJerry Lucas
I remember my elementary school library had a basketball fundamentals book by dick Barnett. He talked about that shot all the time and showed a diagram how to do it.The late 60s/early 70s Knicks were the team in my formative teen years. While tall, I didn't enjoy playing hoops all that much, nor was I any good at anything other than taking up space. But I did manage a decent imitation of Dick Barnett's kick shot.
And then the ABA and Dr. J happened and it was goodbye NBA, hello tri-colored ball. The Nets were my jam until they were forced to sell Dr. J to Philly. I hated the NBA for that and didn't watch again for at least another decade.

As a UConn fan my top three as a kid would have been Tony Hansen, Joey Whelton and John Thomas. Was already a fan but fell in love during that comeback against Hofstra. Then had my heart broken when we lost to Rutgers. If we would have beaten them only VMI would have stood between us and our first final four.Doug Melody
Joey Whelton
Tony Hansen

As a millennial I was all about MJ after his 1st retirement and then AI. Still a Sixer fan to this day because of him.Not a lot of millennials I guess...thought there'd be a lot more love for Penny
