This poll is a chance for the minority of people who thought Ross would be a non factor- to make amends and admit they jumped the gun. Some of us believed in him..... who were you?

I feel like I had been hearing one thing from the coaches, glowing about him in practice but seeing another thing actually play out in games. He wouldn't play much and when he did, very rarely did he display something that matched what the coaches were saying (and mostly that was a really nice, athletic dunk on a break).

His defense looks much, much better. His outside stroke is very smooth and confident. I guess I'd say he's finally translating what they saw in practice to what we see in games. I don't know why anyone would root for him to fail.

Always taking new members on the Ross train. Welcome!

If he takes another step, he might be a go to guy, or at least a really reliable option in crunch time.

Feel like being right about a player that a lot of the boneyard tried to argue me down about is becoming a yearly tradition at this point.

Stay tuned to next off-season for my sleeper breakout player pick!

This is your big victory and you of course were wrong about him.

This is the funniest part. HW consistently got on me about being a Ross hater for saying that I thought he had a pretty reasonable shot at turning into a solid 3 and D bench piece, which is of course exactly what he looks like he’s morphed into. Clearly he’s very much in between where HW thought he’d be and the end of the bench piece some folks thought.

Best case scenario our ninth guy has turned himself into our seventh guy. That's great. It's partly because our previous seventh guy is a huge enigma.
Were it not for one obnoxious poster this player wouldn't get more attention that our actual major contributors.

Having 3-4 guys at that spot has made it a real competition. Now I think Stew may be this year's talking point. He'll have a huge game soon and it'll ignite a minor storm

The talent was obvious. It was much less obvious if it would ever be channeled into something useful, let alone valuable.

There is a huge difference between activity and accomplishment. Fortunately for UConn fans, it looks like he is learning to bridge the gap. He has had good games. Now --can he be consistent. Nothing is proven until it is proven.

Worth noting as well that he's averaging 7 fouls per 40 minutes. I know we've gone in-depth on bad calls and whatnot, but part of staying in the game is adjusting to what the refs are calling. He can't be a major contributor if that keeps up.

I think giving J Ross extended time on the court has helped him settle into a more relaxed rhythm at least thats how it looks to me.

What was I wrong about?
Didn’t you say he’d play a Daniel Hamilton role as effectively a secondary PG? Bonus points because I think part of that discussion was you saying we shouldn’t get a starting PG in th transfer portal because Solo should be the starting PG.

Very fun thread to look back on. Also a two for one as Abraham did end up being a starter at Georgetown (who looks like the 3rd best team in the BE, not just starting for a bad squad).

Man the board was on me just for saying Ross was going to beat out Furphy pretty easily for playing time (which was the case even before his injury).

@RuffRuff sorry bruh. To be fair your opinion changed a lot before the season started.

That's funny. I felt like he's more interesting and contributes more than 99% of the rest of the posters here.
No doubt, but those off-season polls... always make me think of that.
