That would be at odds on how the committee determines who gets in and who gets byes. Just take the top 12 Sagarin teams (or your preferred metric) if that's the case.

Obviously that isn't their task because of how the selection process is mandated vis a vis conference championship byes.

The SEC doesn’t have any elite teams this year. There really aren’t any elites.

They don’t deserve any sort of special consideration.

Texas and Georgia defense is still elite. Are you saying that ACC and BIG12 have better teams?
