Exactly my point as to why Kansas is not a better program than UConn.

You're still wrong, though. I mean, I'm a UConn fan, but the numbers don't support them over Kansas all-time. Last 25 years? Sure, absolutely. But no way to all-time.

I don't disagree Bruce, but if you use a weighted average approach favoring recent performance we look all that much better. Call it the 'what have you done for me lately' approach.

First, let me point out (again) Kansas has made 9 NC games. UConn has made 4. Kansas has lost 3 NC games by one possession, 2 by one point. Overall: Kansas NCAA appearances: 43 Kansas NCAA record: 96-42 Average wins: 2.232 Kansas Final Fours: 14 Kansas NC record: 3-6 UConn NCAA appearances: 32 UConn NCAA record: 58-29 Average wins: 1.182 UConn Final Fours: 5 UConn NC record: 4-0 Modern Era: Knasas NCAA appearances: 29 Kansas NCAA record: 74-27 Average wins: 2.466 Kansas Final Fours: 8 Kansas NC record: 2-3 UConn NCAA appearances: 19 UConn NCAA record: 54-15 Average wins: 2.842 UConn Final Fours: 5 UConn NC record: 4-0 Those damn facts got in the way, sorry.

On the flip side, if Memphis didn't totally chunk a title away - they'd have nothing but a Danny Manning run and a title with Wilt. Of course I'm happy to give Kansas that title, given the alternative.

Kansas is one of those programs that falls in between CCNY and UConn on the titles list. No shame in that. A lot of excellent programs in that window.
