Winning Maui, then beating Gonzaga and Baylor. That's the goal before conference play. We do that? We are top dogs heading into conference play

That's a gauntlet and a real tall order. We certainly have it in us but I cant expect coming out of those 5 without a blemish or two. And if it is just a blemish or two and not worse, I will be OK. It's a long season and we have the potential to be really humming by February. We are nowhere near close to having a settled lineup and what we see in February could be VERY different than what the original lineup rotations were conceived as. I noticed differences last night even.

I watched the highlights of Duke and Kentucky, and saw only one off the ball screen from Duke in the entire highlight package. They are just relying on guys creating their own shots, sometimes with a ball screen, but that’s it. Maybe they’ll add more as the season goes, but running good offense takes a lot of effort to fine tune, getting the timing right, learning how to set screens, use screens, make quick reads, etc. Not running any now doesn’t get you better.

There was nothing wrong with what Pitino said and actually he is correct. There was no slight or lack of respect either. Our BE battles will be close I’m sure. Who knows what will happen no guarantees even with our talent. That’s why they play the games. 2 years ago we went into a losing streak where our fans questioned whether we would make the tournament at one point.
