Well all know that for years UConn’s conference schedule has been weak and we can also probably agree that this hurts them come tournament time. Geno & crew do a good job scheduling top non conference matchups. Unfortunately due to covid, games this season versus Baylor and Louisville were cancelled.

Who would you like to see UConn play next year? I would like to see them go head to head with Stanford. They lose Kiana W and Anna W but return Haley Jones, Hull, and Brink. I’d also like a Baylor matchup. They do lose 3 starters but return Nalyssa and Queen Egbo. Whatever team that Vic Schaffer is coaching come next season. Maybe another Iowa game, perhaps they’ll be better next year, and a Paige/Caitlin matchup is good for the game. Also, South Carolina, Louisville, and Oregon Ducks. I kinda want to see a Sedona/Sabally vs Liv/Aaliyah matchup.

I would say that at least 95% of the OOC is already scheduled and that is the same for the other teams you mentioned. I believe it was stated after the Iowa game that the earliest it could be scheduled is Paige's Junior year. As for Louisville and South Carolina they are already scheduled.

Already playing in the battle for Atlantis, with South Carolina, Oregon, Oklahoma, Minnesota, South Florida, Buffalo, Connecticut, and Syracuse.

I would be intrigued with a home/home series with Caitlin and Iowa in Paige's junior and senior year.
On our trip out there...stop by Iowa State as well...maybe a Friday/Sunday during the winter break.

Is there a maximum number of games a school can play? I believe that we play 20 BE games and already have some OOC games scheduled.
What I would not like to see is a repeat of this season where Geno has to scramble to get a game on the schedule. It worked ok for the UMass-Lowell game but not so well for the Arkansas game. (Hindsight is 20/20.)

They can not play these two teams because they are already scheduled for next season.

Notre Dame, Oregon, South Carolina and the three games (that count as 1) in the Bahamas are the only games i know that are confirmed? if anyone has any other insight please let me know.

With the retirement of Oklahoma's Coach Coale and that we played Syracuse in the NCAA, I would hope that the three teams that UConn plays are Minnesota, South Florida, and Buffalo.

They have sometimes agreed to substitute a in season tournament game for a scheduled H/A OOC game extending a H/A game to the following year. Can't remember when this happened, just remember it happening at least once.

If that's true, I guess you'll have an 8 year wait before your next win. ;)
Geno said if they played l'ville this year when it was scheduled Uconn would have been blown out

Cal Baptist.
2 teams that share the ball very well.
This is assuming that CBU returns its 3 seniors.

They should play as many difficult teams as they can to get ready for the tourney.

I wish the Big East would just have us play our conference teams once. No need to play any of these teams twice.

If the pandemic is somewhat under control, what exhibition games can we have? Iowa?

Exhibition games can only be against Div II and Div III opponents, it can not be a Div I team.

Home and away for each team one of the best things about the BE. Eventually, some teams will emerge and be competitive. We did that before with Louisville and Notre Dame in the old biggies and USF in the American. We can do it again.

Ideal: Stanford, Baylor, SoCarolina, Lou, NCSt, Maryland, Iowa

Actual: ND Ore SC Lou Md? Tex? Tenn? Okla?

We need a strong out of conference schedule to make ours comparable to Power 5 teams. This year several of those big games got cancelled, and we got somewhat lucky that other teams had two or more losses. Because of the weaker schedule we would have been ranked behind any Power 5 contender that matched us in losses.

Next year with our talent we should achieve our ranking with quality wins instead of fewer screw ups. To a large degree the conference schedule can be fine tuning. Getting the end of the bench some more time even if not prime time, developing consistency, defining roles etc. I don't think we should ever schedule a really good team first, partly because I want to keep our streak of avoiding back to back losses in tack, and partly because we need at least one non stressful game to start.

We have an entirely different situation from the Power 5 schools. They sometimes schedule cupcakes in the early season which is more like an extension of training camp, getting ready for the games that count later in conference. We are thrown into the fire right away, then have a relatively boring conference schedule with an occasional big out of conference mixed in, and then back to prime-time after the first couple of NCAA games.

With our typical schedule, experience makes a big difference when you have big games early. We are still very young but return the entire core so there is more stability there than there was this year. Mostly what we need the most is experience in handling adversity, and we only get that against top teams. When those teams take away a major part of our game-plan, what is our plan B and C and let's get used to succeeding with those as well.

So, do you want a strong OOC schedule or not?

More Pac 12: Stanford, AZ, the Oregons (homecoming for Evina, if not already scheduled) Different SEC to include Bama, Georgia, and of course South Carolina. Could do without Tennessee. Louisville, Ga Tech, Michigan the Iowas. Play as many difficult teams as we can.

It is only the very first game that I think should be a pushover. We have not lost back to back games since I think 1993. It is a remarkable record I would like to keep intact. Every year we do not win a championship, we start the season with a one game losing streak like 63 other team in the tournament. Lose your first game of the season and that streak is gone. So your first highlighted portion is my main theme and the first game, and only the first game, is an exception to that.

My Ideal Non-Conference

11/13 Iowa

11/15 @ Georgia Tech

11/19 Syracuse*

11/20 Oklahoma*

11/21 South Florida*

12/5 North Carolina State

12/20 @ Oregon

1/6 @ Baylor

1/20 Maryland

2/7 @ South Carolina

2/14 Louisville

Fully Aware most of this won't happen but this would give us some really exciting games and prep us for March.
