Bazz or KML. I will take KML on the UCONN women's team. Best shooter at UCONN!!

Mosqueda-Lewis.

But if you somehow brainwashed Shabazz into thinking it's the last 30 seconds or overtime, it's a tossup.

Please let's not do this, they play totally different games and it's just silly to compare. They are both great shooters and great players. Geno hates it more than anyone when people try to do this, he says men's and women's basketball are so different that it's almost like they play entirely different sports.

KML is a great shooter, really good! Of course she's open a lot more than Bazz so the answer would be dependent on if we're talking about being guarded or just a shoot around?

Also as champs pointed out which ball?

.-.
I will give the 3 point shooting edge to Bazz. However, in a fist fight I think KML wins easily!!

Really there is no comparison of women's and men's basketball. The strength and athleticism of the men's game is on a different stratosphere.

Mark Cuban just loves being in the headlines - drafting Griner is silly. However the greatest college basketball coach of all-time John Wooden always stated he enjoyed watching the women's game more because of the importance of fundamentals.

I've never seen a basketball player who, in game, I thought every three pointer the player took was going on. And that's how KML is.

Then again, I also feel like if Bazz took the same quality shots KML took..his percentage might be similar.

The ball doesn't make a difference either. So long as you give either player an adjustment period with it.

Open three, I'm taking KML. Difficult 30 feet out 2 seconds on the shot clock..Bazz will win.

That said, three point shooting contest? I might take Giffey before either of them. Seeing as he's already won that contest. :p

This is actually a fair question. A three-point shooting contest is something which actually exists - it involves no defense, and a few racks of basketballs. They could also shoot pool or throw darts or play Texas hold 'em and it wouldn't matter how strong or athletic the guys are.

Are they using regulation sized balls or the kiddie version?

Please someone don't say the smaller ball is harder to shoot. Please someone don't say the smaller ball is harder to shoot. Please someone don't say the smaller ball is harder to shoot.

Just dig up the that old doozy from the scout board and send all commenters over there.

Not sure where, but I did hear that the smaller ball is actually harder to shoot. (bwaaaa haaaa haaaaa)

The smaller ball has to go in more...HAS TO.....

But it's "harder to shoot";)

Isn't the ball the women use smaller than the one the men use?

.-.
In just a 3 point shooting contest like the NBA does, KML hands down. She would hit 75 % of her shots. She hits 50 under pressure in games.

You have to remember that the women's basketball is much harder to shoot.

No it's not. Maybe for you, me, and all other men out there with large hands. Women's smaller hands make it the same size with respect to the hand/ball.

I remember the study they did on this looking at the hand size of thousands of players to come with the exactly the right ball size...wait no I don't. Heather Buck could palm my head. For that matter my middle school daughter can palm a woman's ball already.

Nah, this whole smaller ball thing is just chauvenism, like the "ladies aid" in pool. It is an assumption that women can't play with the same ball as the guys.

I remember Diana Taurasi was playing basketball with a reporter, and of course, winning. The reporter decided that he was struggling because they were using the woman's ball and told Diana. She replied, "well go get a men's ball, heck go get a golf ball or bowling ball. It doesn't matter, I can beat you with any of them." He did get a men's ball and it didn't change anything.

They should phase out the smaller ball.

small ball is good for younger girls, pre high school.

The marginally smaller ball helps more for the smaller-handed sex to be able to control it on the dribble, or pull it in with one hand, than it does for shooting it. Shooting percentages would be similar with a men's ball, but the game would get a notch sloppier.

.-.
My high school son is disappointed when KML grazes the rim on a make. She's really improved her off-the-dribble shooting this year.
I love what Napier has meant for the program, but in a 3-point shooting contest, I would take KML.

Shooting percentages would be similar with a men's ball, ...

Not sure if I buy this. Smaller ball with same size rim says to me that more shots go in. If that wasn't so, carny's would go broke.

Have you noticed a big difference in 3-point shooting after the line went back a foot? Same principle. Maybe it is a percentage point or two difference - but not enough that you'd notice.
