Devin Carter is battling a left ankle injury he aggravated in the second half of a 79-68 loss to Marquette in the Big East Tournament semifinals. His status is further complicated by a looming NBA Draft decision as no player on Providence’s roster has done more to advance his professional stock this season. Rich Barron (undisclosed) has already been declared out — he's battled a lower right leg injury throughout the last few weeks and didn’t return after hitting his head on the Madison Square Garden floor with 7:04 left against the Golden Eagles.

PC loses this to BC and they’ll make the idiots on the committee look like geniuses.
 
How did Xavier make the NIT? I thought teams needed a winning record.

last time BC played a meaningful hoops game(not that this counts) was in the 2006 elite 8 vs nova I believe. Jared Dudley squad. 18 years. Smart move leaving the big east.

BC guy hit a go-ahead 3 with under a minute left. PC turns it over, BC misses the wide open fast break dunk, but gets the rebound and layup with 21 seconds left. Gaines misses a 3, Providence gives up and doesn’t foul down 5 with 15 seconds left. Lol..

Rough game for most of the Friars. Pierre had 21 (but the game losing TO), Castro came off the bench for 8, but that’s it. Oduro 5-14, Gaines 1-8, CFJ 2-10
 
Xavier was down 2 with 1.9 seconds left, inbounding under their hoop.

Des Claude gets the inbound, essentially dribbles out the clock, then gets blocked on his shot after the buzzer anyway

PC w/o Carter and Barron. Only Castro on bench. They might've been challenged to beat Mississippi Valley St with that.

Not really, Providence’s best player did not play. If they made the NCAA Tournament he would’ve played.
