I don't think SC should have been number one in the first place. There is a chance the voters could over rank UCLA for this win though.

If UCLA beats SC today 11/24, would UConn or UCLA be ranked #1? At the half, UCLA is leading by 21 and looking really, really good.
I don't have a strong feeling about who should be number one, but there's a pretty good chance your post doesn't age well.;)

It will be interesting. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if Uconn dropped a spot behind both UCLA and Notre Dame with South Carolina 4th. Beating #3 on the road is almost as impressive as UCLA beating #1 at home. Beating North Carolina on the road is something but doesn't compare to the wins this weekend in my opinion.

If UCLA wins I believe that the highest they would be ranked is #2, I can't see them leapfrogging UConn in the polls.

I agree that UCLA looks good. Deep. And big. I could see them get the nod after the beating they are putting on SC. SC looks ragged. Refs really let lot contact go on. My guess is it’s intentional strategy by Dawn- if you have 14 players that can play, no reason to worry about foul trouble.

UCLAs freshman pt guard has played well- but that looks like a weakness of the team. Would like to see an ND UCLA match up.

Pretty sure this is what’s gonna happen

The hand writing is on the wall. When UCONN beats Oregon St, and either Mississippi U. or Boston U, who we have already beat, Uconn will be N.o.1 . I am watching S.Carolina now. Back to the game.

If UCLA jumps five places over both UConn and Notre Dame, it will be a travesty! UConn #1, Notre Dame #2, UCLA #3, South Carolina #4, USC #5!
That is the proper order if (and it’s a big if) UCLA can hold on and win. It would not surprise me to see UCLA choke this big lead away!

I have watched all the top teams play, and by far the most impressive among them at this early point of the season (god I hate myself for saying this) is Notre Dame, not UCLA, and it isn't even particularly close.

But UCLA would probably get credited for beating the top-ranked team by a wide margin. I expect the first-place votes to be split three ways between UCLA, ND, and UConn.

After UCLA stunned South Carolina in LA today, there will be a new #1 team when the AP poll comes out tomorrow. It will either be the current #2 ranked Huskies, or the Bruins, after their 15 point win over the defending national champions and current #1 Gamecocks.

I must confess, I would prefer seeing UConn at #1 in the last poll of the season in April, rather than the last poll of November. So I’m rooting for UCLA to be #1 tomorrow. ;)

It's possible that USC will drop below Texas. After all, they were 3, and Texas was 4. UCONN, UCLA, and Notre Dame will probably all get some #1 votes.
There will be some dumb idiot pollster that will still give South Carolina a first place vote, heck they most likely already submitted their votes before the game.

My thoughts exactly. I said in an earlier post that S.Carolina was beatable and they should be NO.1 until they lost. Well they lost and now it's UCONN's turn. UCLA is formidable but SC hasn't the defense that UCONN has , so I believe that we can prevail. Has UCLA ever beat UCONN? We should be NO.1 next week and if not ,by the week after we will be. GO FRESHMEN!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!

The only thing I had against SC winning the NC (if we didn't obviously) and going undefeated was the winning streak continuing into this season. I was glad that Dawn scheduled UCLA but was still wary of the streak to 111.
Well, I am ecstatic that their streak will start again with their next win.
