The top 4 teams won the 1st Round, the top 2 teams won in the Semi's. Will the trend continue in the Finals?

Who is your pick to win and why?

All the talk will be about the faces of the new Unrivaled league Breanna Stewart and Naphessa Collier but I think the series will be determined by which "Lead" guard has the bigger impact: Sabrina Ionescu or Courtney Williams therefore I am leaning Liberty.

I am rocking with my Lynx. If Kay Mac can carry this hot shooting into the Finals, oh boy!! Then we got Courtney. I am rocking with my Lynx.

The Liberty feel destined to win it, though the Lynx make a good underdog story of a team that no one had thought would be this good at the beginning of the season. I'm guessing Liberty in 4.

Interesting fact: the Libert are 0-5 in finals appearances but have never had home court advantage until this one.

On the flip side, the Lynx are 4-2 in finals appearances and have always had home court advantage, but this is the first time they won’t,

Since the Minnesota Mynx are not an actual team, I went with the Liberty.

Other than spotting the "trick question", I don't watch enough WNBA to have informed opinion.

I kind of view this as Napheesa versus Stewie. Tough for me to have a routing interest for one over the other. I have watched some bits and pieces of Napheesa playing this year. She is damn impressive. Calm, cool and in control. on the other hand, Stewie is Stewie, so, who knows?

I've said all along that I'm taking the field versus the Liberty, and the field is now the Lynx.

While it would absolutely stink to see Cheryl Reeve win another ring, it would feel odd to root against Phee getting her first. I'll also pull for KMac to win after all this time. And let's be real--Cheryl, as repugnant as she is, can coach circles around Sandy Brondello.

I like Napheesa Collier. I've always admired her game at UConn. She's such a beast on offense and defense. It'll be cool to see her match up against Stewart. I want the Lynx to win
Defense will win this matchup, and I pick Stewie and the Liberty in the Finals.
Last year was the 1st time Stewie lost a finals, and I don't see that happening again anytime soon. If you were going to beat the Liberty this year it needed to be on the first 2 rounds.

Liberty handily have the more talented roster, but I think the Lynx are more consistent and do a better job maximizing the individual parts. They’ve also had New York’s number all year. A lot of that comes down to coaching. I think Reeve can coach circles around Brondello but the Lynx will need Collier at her best every game where the Liberty can afford an off night from Ionescu/Stewart as long as Jones shows up (which isn’t a given).

I’ll go Liberty in 5, but I’m also preemptively viewing game 1 as a win for the Liberty because the Lynx just played last night. If Minnesota can steal it on the road I think they’ll win the series.

Man, this is a toughie to me. While I get the NY Liberty "revenge tour/on a mission" theme, Coach Hammond's comment about the Lynx being a great team echoes in the back of my mind.

Minnesota won the head to head match up 2-1 during the regular season. NY needs to prove they've made the necessary adjustments to beat how the Lynx defend them.

This series reminds me of what happened when the NY Giants upset the Patriots during their undefeated run. They found ways to stay in the game which led to Tyree's insane catch that helped the Giants make the winning score.

I'm not trying to stay neutral but I'm really on the fence on this one. Going to go into "Confucius mode" here and see how I react after tonight's game.

To me, the key is Bridget Carleton (no, seriously). If she plays well offensively, then you can't hide Sabrina on anyone in that starting five. This means that Sabrina will have to be ON offensively for 4-5 games against the best defense in the WNBA to offset what she's going to give up on the other end. I just don't see that happening. To put it mildly, NY is screwed if Carleton plays well.

If Bridget is off, then Minnesota is screwed unless Phee goes A'ja Gawd Mode (which is possible given what she's done so far, but that's a lot to ask).

Well.....I'm still undecided. Decided to spend time capturing the aurora and listen to the game via stream. Glad I did as I'd be stressed watching it live.
