Which rookies do you think will make the WNBA rosters this year?

I'm hoping that Jennifer Schlott will make the Fever roster and that Tiffany Bias will make the Mercury team.

I'm sure that the top ten will make the teams and Meighan Simmons should make the NY Liberty roster despite the late draft pick.

Bumping the roster size up to 12 opens up opportunities that hadn't existed for several years for rookies.

There's another article on there about how most teams only use 6 or 7 players so they don't really need 12 players.

I disagree with that in that this is partly show business and fans want to see their favorite players even if they're not starters/stars.

That's why I hope Jennifer Schlott, Tiffany Bias and Maggie Lucas make their teams as well as a few others. I just want to see them play.

BTW- Monica Wright is out for the season so maybe Asia Taylor will get that spot on the roster.

I think Bias could be a good PG for Phoenix. She very quick and a speedy player will fit well there.

I don't think Wright is out for the season. She recently had knee surgery but I'm pretty sure they expect her back near the beginning of the season.

LA has a huge salary cap issue, especially after bringing in Wiggins. So the team will likely need to carry 11 players instead of 12 and is looking for cheap players to fill out the roster (does not come any cheaper than a rookie drafted in the third round). Slaughter also gives the team a versatile forward and is a nice role player.

Meaning there is no time table for her return. However there was no ligament damage to her knee and based on interviews, most expect her back sooner than later.

The problem is they have 13 guards in training camp. They did draft her though so maybe that counts for somethng.

This linked article listed projected rosters for all teams, vets snd rookies included. And speculated who would be cut.. For example, for the Sun they speculate Griffth will be be cut (fat chance, imo). I didn't see Kelly listed there anywhere, and no mention, so was wondering if it was an oversight, injury situation, etc. Nowhere better to ask than here.

The guy acknowledged that Griffith has a guaranteed contract. Yeah, he probably overlooked putting Faris on the roster. I have no doubt that she'll make the squad.

Simmons can certainly make the team. She has the speed. She can fill it up. Her overall game improved at Tennessee. She is a better passer and better on defense than when she came in.

Wait, he thinks Paris could be the leading scorer for the Shock? I've haven't seen anything in her game that suggests she's an elite WNBA player. Maybe she's improved a lot over the offseason, but I remain skeptical.

I agree. I thnk she may have gotten a little come-uppance by having to wait until the 3rd round to be picked at the draft.

Didn't she play for the Texas A&M team that beat Griner for the NC? If so, she can surprise you. She might be better than Cambage in the long run.
She does seem like she could slim down some though.

Please....Kelsey Griffin will be counted on for vet leadership after signing a two year contract and Sydney Carter, she of the last cut, isn't in camp and won;t be.

Swish Appeal does some good stuff, but it's stuff like that led me to leave and go to Hoopfeed. If they just stuck to their core writers it'd be better IMO.
