OT: Which pro playoffs are the best?

Agree on NBA and NHL too long

NFL - IMO this is the best but they should hold SB the weekend after the Conference Championships rather than waiting 2 weeks

Agree on MLB

World Cup - Even MORE boring than either NBA or NHL. Cross Country running while kicking a ball.
Hard disagree on world cup

I disagree on World Cup and NHL.

In fact this a great time of year with NFL, MLB playoffs and start of NHL season.

Playoff baseball is still the best. Last night's Yankee game, 1 game out of many, was crazy. You get tons of games like this in MLB.
I do agree hockey is very similar but baseball is better for me simply because I understand it all.

I don't like baseball but If I was going to watch something like that I think I would prefer the more athletic version of the game in cricket.

We need to find a way to create a relegation system in the US - it's good entertainment.

As for NHL - truly an acquired taste. I for one, find it incredibly boring watching a tiny puck shoot around on TV. It's organized chaos. No real sets or alternate possessions, just madness. Reduces the drama. Also, major drag when one of these Floridian expansion franchises dominate vs storied franchises in real hockey playing locations. If a hockey game isn't within one goal or two within the last period or so, find it truly pointless to watch.
I agree with the relegation. It would also give us small market clubs which would be fun.

Name the best overall athlete in the nba today and see if we can find someone to top him. Or 50 people to top him. I'd argue that the nba has the least physicall or athletic players of the big sports. And it's not even close. No one in the nba even needs to sprint and all they do is shoot a basketball in a non-contact sport. please. It's clear you've never watched soccer. Haaland is 6'5" and can run like the wind. Your boys can't run for 5 minutes without puking.

What on earth is this opinion.

The World Cup is BY FAR the greatest sporting event we have.

Even if you're not a soccer fan The World Cup is awesome. The way the fans and players get into it, the pride in country, the hot women everywhere, the different styles of play, the pageantry, the cultural impact.
My friends who can’t name 5 club soccer teams drop everything to watch and invest in it. I’m a massive soccer fan so it’s obvious that I look forward to it, but those that are casual and even less into it buy in completely too.

I feel like the World Cup and NFL are rigged. My answer is MLB and NHL. That being said the NBA is the worst.

I enjoy soccer but almost never watch it. I become obsessed with it when The World Cup rolls around.

Another subjective question for debate. All personnel preference.

I watch four sports for the most part. MCBB, NFL, MLB and NBA.

I live and die with every regular season game that includes our Men’s BB and my favorite NFL team.

I could care less about regular season MLB and NBA outcomes.

So for me the answer is MLB playoffs since at least for me they provide more drama than the NBA playoffs.

Please explain how watching grown men running around for 3 hours chasing a ball, kicking each other and falling down in faked pain, generally not scoring at all, and ending a tied championship game with a kick off rather than sudden death is exciting, and not completely boring.

There’s nuance, incredible durability and stamina, national pride like you don’t see in other sports, instances of strength and physicality vs brain and strategy, etc. It’s called “The Beautiful Game” for a reason.

Your post just shows that the worldwide caricature of stupid American fans is really not that far off unfortunately.

Although my grandfather tried to make me a soccer fan, I unfortunately was one of those first generation children of immigrants who cared more about being American than being proud of my heritage. He even brought me to Pele’s final Cosmos game great seat and I just never appreciated it as much as I should have.

Anyway maybe 8-9 years ago one of my sons wanted the soccer FIFA game for his PS. After he got it, I ended up playing it with him a lot.

I don’t play much anymore but the FIFA EA soccer game became my favorite game to play over taking Madden. Not sure how it happened but it did, so now I watch more soccer. Really wish the men’s team would be more competitive. If they had a chance I know I would watch more but I will still watch the World Cup.

Don’t watch the US if you don’t feel like you have to (me). It is really not a fun watch.

Pick an EPL squad.

Personal insults are not necessary. I could have said the same about you and all of the fans that happen to like soccer, but chose to be polite. That being said, I would call it the "Dumb" game because anyone can play it.

That’s not a personal insult. The caricature of our fans that don’t understand or care to understand the game and think of it as an easy, wussy sport is accurate in your post. That’s just a fact.

That clarification would have been better stated than "the worldwide caricature of stupid American fans." I think the sentiments stated in my post would be agreed upon by many Americans who dislike soccer and choose not watch it because of those stated observations. That being said, I hope you enjoy the World cup. I will not be watching a single minute of it.

Pick an EPL squad.
It would be Chelsea if I did. If I see them playing I will stop and watch for awhile. I have had friends say if you spent anytime living in an area of England that has. Premier League regular team you will become a fan for life because the passion is a bit contagious. But most of my opinion/feelings are based on uniforms and my PS experience I think there is a squad from Everton…I liked playing for them in career mode in FIFA and I know there used to be a big Chelsea v Arsenal rivalry.
