Feel like a good coaching staff gets good players…. It’s not apples to apples but look what UConn has assembled for BB. It’s probably the best coaching staff in BB right now. There are 4 legit head coaches. Players look at that. Players see the ability to develop.
Not sure it’s exactly the same thing.
But then I look at Colorado. No trouble getting talent. But they seem to be more hype than substance.
Maybe it’s not apples to apples with BB, and maybe Prime just needs a little more time. But I think the coaches are the foundation. Get a couple good ones under Mora.
This is true but it's not as true as it used to be. Unless you have an absolutely world changing HC and staff, kids will have coaching as a factor in their recruitment alongside NIL, exposure, and playing in a major conference and competing for the playoffs.
The coaching staff alone isn't going to bring in 4 star players. We don't have enough NIL, we can't offer kids national exposure, we don't play in a major conference, and we're not competing for a playoff spot.
We're the scrappy underdog right now and we have to scratch and claw to get and keep whoever we can get.
