Granted it is only an open practice, but heck its something. Everyone has their own idea of what is more important than not (footwork, Oline, etc)... for those who are going Saturday what will you be watching for? For those who can't make it what do you want notes on. I'm looking forward most to seeing how the QB position is shaping up and if any of the true Freshman look like they can make a legit push for playing time. I'll also be keeping an eye on the corners ...

Looking forward to seeing Storrs, its been years since I've seen it (aside from gample)... I hear there have been some big changes.

BTW ESPN's switching over to FB comments doesn't seem to be playing out so well on their blog sites :-)

Agree on the QBs and corners, but I'd also be watching to see how the OL, TE's and RB's are shaping up. Looking forward to the reports on Sat. Wish I could be there.

Oline getting push against what should be a good D.
QB throwing to the correct color jerseys.

Me? In addition to OL development, I'm VERY interested in how our defensive secondary is taking shape. We lost a pair of studs last year and need to replace to get our front 7 to fire off. We're playing against a couple of talented QBs early in the season so it's important to gel early.

Excited to see some football even if only practice. Suppose to be a beautiful day.

Hey, if you are checking out the OL, I'd be interested to hear how #51 Sam Murphy looks...he is a true freshman, 6'6" 267 lbs. I'm across the country right now and won't be able to attend...btw, I have more than a cursory interest as his Dad.

Please forgive our collective Boneyard neurosis. Welcome, and good luck to your son.

The ENTIRE offense.. It was awful/embarrassing last year... Can't go anywhere but up (I hope). OL play, WR play, TE play, and RB play.. I think Whitmer's entrenched at QB, and I'm not mad about it... He's pretty good.. Hopefully everyone else around him play just as good...

Does anyone know the best place to park without getting ticketed or towed? Is any lot ok during the summer?

I can't attend. One thing I like to do when I watch QBs, is see how fast they get rid of the ball. If you see him, step, step step, plant, throw, that's a pretty good indication he is seeing the field and reading the defense correctly. Usually step, step, step, crow hop, plant, throw is pretty common but okay. The problem is step, step, step, look, look, look, plant, throw. Sometimes, that isn't the QBs fault. Nobody is open. But it ain't a good sign.

But when everyone is doing their job correctly, it's step, step, step, plant throw.

Starts @ 0845 and they pointed peeps to park in D lot?

Park in the lot at the practice field. Follow the road between the Co-op and Gampel. Drive past new hoops facility in progress/old Memorial Stadium (on right), new football facilities (on left). Take first right, then turn right into parking lot. Couldn't be easier.

Looking forward to lots of sunshine and UCONN football. Watchinig O-line (and coach DeLeone's interactions with them), linebackers, running game and coach Weist's high energy style.

Two weeks from tonight is Towson--can't wait!

QB and D-Line

seems pretty standard each season for me.

I'm interested in hearing if Kivon Taylor is given any reps at WR and, if so, how he looked. This kid supposedly has Crabtree-like abilities and potential. If that's true he needs to be given a good look there ASAP.
