Hotel accommodations have to be considered as well for the 10 teams, their fans and administrators. To me, Mohegan and the other close by hotels would be the easiest for all. I guess it depends on how much someone bids for it. While I agree Hartford is easier for most of us, what the heck is there to do in Hartford between games??? NOTHING!!! At least as Mohegan you can eat, shop and gamble...FWIW I think it should be Hartford. I think that's an easier venue for people from Fairfield county to get to and I think attendance will be higher there.
Having said that, I love the Mohegan Sun and all the restaurants and shops and what not. What I DETEST is the smoking that is allowed all over the casino. My parents had a hard time breathing as they would walk through, and the smell was just disgusting.
BTW, I like @RSHERMVIKES optimism on the 10K but as the Big East never averaged 10K in its heyday, I am doubtful the 2021 version of the BET will get that. The UConn sessions should but I would be happy with a 8k average...the AAC averaged a little over 5,000 per session this year, 2nd most of all the Conferences. SEC was #1 at 6,400+
