FWIW I think it should be Hartford. I think that's an easier venue for people from Fairfield county to get to and I think attendance will be higher there.

Having said that, I love the Mohegan Sun and all the restaurants and shops and what not. What I DETEST is the smoking that is allowed all over the casino. My parents had a hard time breathing as they would walk through, and the smell was just disgusting.
Hotel accommodations have to be considered as well for the 10 teams, their fans and administrators. To me, Mohegan and the other close by hotels would be the easiest for all. I guess it depends on how much someone bids for it. While I agree Hartford is easier for most of us, what the heck is there to do in Hartford between games??? NOTHING!!! At least as Mohegan you can eat, shop and gamble...

BTW, I like @RSHERMVIKES optimism on the 10K but as the Big East never averaged 10K in its heyday, I am doubtful the 2021 version of the BET will get that. The UConn sessions should but I would be happy with a 8k average...the AAC averaged a little over 5,000 per session this year, 2nd most of all the Conferences. SEC was #1 at 6,400+

The Big East currently plays their tournament at DePaul's brand new arena. I remember back in the day the Catholics didn't want to go to the Mohegan Casino. Will the tournament be back in Connecticut next year? Hartford?
Let's see. Back in the day Connecticut had tolls and if a politician brought up the word lottery they were severely chastised. Not to mention that to a good Catholic it was "meatless friday", Now people are crawling all over themselves to see who can build the next casino. Book your ticket for the Mohegan Sun.

Is it typical to keep having the tournament in one place? Could they alternate, one year at MSG, one year in Chicago? Seems like the conference is bunched in two areas. While my selfish side says Mohegan Sun or XL, my compassionate side, small though it is, tries to think of the people who live in the area within a few hundred miles of Chicago. I guess the issue is attendance. I will have to look at attendance for yesterday's Big East championship. It may be the women from the other teams would actually rather play in front of 10,000 fans instead of 2,000, even if they are rooting for the other team.
Ralph, again, the answer to all your questions is money. If the Ncaa could make the most money holding the tournament in the middle of the Sahara Desert I would start to try cornering the camel market.

Eric, the first thing I do when I get home from the casino is to take the clothes off and throw them in the washing machine. That smell just seems to lay on you.
