When I said this NCAA thing was going to be bad according to my source - most on this Board disagreed. Now we all know the rap sheet on that.
I don't think Herbst last year fully understood the deep seated animosity that Emmert has toward Calhoun. He will sell his soul to extract revenge on Jim Calhoun. He will pass retroactive rules, punish acts that were already punished and cut deals with Black Colleges for votes and then exempt them from the same rules that he is imposing on UConn and others. I understand they need to vote based on self interest for their institution; but that doesn't excuse the morality behind what he has done.
So now Herbst understand the rift - and that doesn't help Calhoun.

At the risk of sounding like a total ignoramus at worst; and just a tad out of touch at best, fill me in on what the deal is between Emmert and JC. I don't need all of the gory details; and I don't recall any of The Horde writing anything about it. But, you seem pretty convinced that we are being used for target practice; and, if that is the case, we sure as hell need to put a stop to it. Thanks!!

GO HUSKIES!!!

Chief:

You were always wrong on the APR stuff. You still are.

You never got it, and you never will.

As for morality, 340 schools had no problem with the APR. UConn, Louisiana Monroe/Lafayette, and a few HBCUs did. Thats it.

Stop blaming the NCAA for UConns embarrassing academic failure.

I know he exempted historically black colleges but, ULM is actually a state school, and they just got the same waiver.

You're wrong. 13 schools, some of them bigtime, would have fallen afoul had it been imposed this year.

Why wasn't it imposed this year?

And, this has little to do with academics.

The burden of proof lies with you/Chief.

Why would the NCAA want to single out the University of Connecticut and enforce it this year? Because Chief claims there's some bad blood from 1996? Really? Speculation all you got?

The original post is delusional.

It's rare that you see someone pat themselves on the back for being bat s*** crazy, but there you go.

ZLS' followup was equally nuts.

It's even more rare to see exchanges like that outside of homeless shelters and insane asylums.

Anywho, happy Saturday, Boneyard.

We just need to replace our morning beverages with alcohol.

If nothing else, we've determined without a doubt that these people wake up crazy.

Let me guess, you mostly ignore the political debates and commentary. Bat crazy would be a step up for most of it. I suspect that's why so many lawyers post here, to refine their arguments.

I've found Chief to be a pretty credible poster in the past, so I'd like to hear what his explanation is about the rift between Emmert and JC.

You have to love when people launch off with the hoary phrase, "When I said . . . " Like when I said I was going to become a comedian, everyone laughed. Well, they're not laughing now.
Had to think about this one, LOL

Feeling a bit awkward right about now.

So, it's not normal to start Saturday off with a 6-pack for breakfast?

I didn't say there is a conspiracy. Someone else said that. I wrote that you're wrong that no major schools have fallen afoul. Other schools have.

Before you decide who to believe just remember the same crew that is in denial about this is the same crew who said the combined NCAA Recruiting and APR sanctions would be a mere slap on the wrist. If you still believe that you probably also believe the Earth's magnetic fields will flip this year. My source remains the same and that's the problem with having a good source with a proven accurate track record - you can't reveal who it is, but if I did most reasonable people would say OK - they would know.

Not from my main source but if you don't think Emmert is out to get Calhoun you might want to ask Andre LaFluer when he was interviewed by the NCAA about Boatright - if the questions were targeted about Jalen Rose's brother and AAU, Boatright's Mom or about what Jim Calhoun did?

They were searching for that disgruntled ex subordinate but did not find it in that case.

Other schools have not "fallen afoul". They have been in DANGER. If they adopt the changes that everyone here wants, which would save UConn, most of them would be fine as well.

Please do not speak so definitively because even though I am sure you actually believe what you are saying, everyone else is chuckling.

No, wrong again. They have fallen afoul. If the measures were instituted this year, they would not have qualified.

My sources are pretty definitive and more importantly they have been right.

Well kinda shows your lack of knowledge..... Its Derrick Rose's brother not Jalen..... And didnt you say UConn was going to go to the SEC a couple months ago?
