... we had someone like Shirreffs with the ability make a play out of nothing? I mean, sure, Whitmer scrambled a couple of times, but generally this was followed by either a fumble or a concussion or both.

I remember Shirreffs taking a shot in either the 3rd or 4th, and actually spinning and turning a sack for -4 or -5 yards into a 7 yard gain. That's huge. That's the entire difference in a drive, which is the entire shift in momentum.

I am, dare I say, cautiously optimistic?

I'm gonna extrapolate based on way too small a sample size but I like our future. I can't say I see them putting it all together this year, but next year... Year after... Cautiously optimistic
