It's a tie. Here is 1A.

Even though I watch quite a few of the singing (and dancing shows) I had never seen this one.
Great performance! I saw James Brown do this too many years ago at The Apollo Theatre. WOW!
It's ironic in a way, that my enjoyment or even over for emerging talent (to my families dismay and joking) is very similar to my love for U Conn's wbb!
Put it out there and show us what you got!

Here are a few of my favorites but I am tech deficient so can't imbed them.
First is Katherine McPhee's American Idol audition of "God whose got the child".
Another is Alice Fredenham's "My Funny Valentine", on Britain Gots Talent.
Panda Ross does "Bring it on Home" with an amazing voice and so entertaining and funny on American Idol.
Sure I have more to come!

If you look carefully, one of the judges is David Lettermen. Surprised me.
And did you notice he was the one person not jumping around like a nitwit?

Did he get his stupid pet tricks bit from the gong show? It was so long ago, I don't remember.

One more, and she won it the year she participated. An interesting side note.
It's amazing how many participants in foreign countries sing songs in English.
If you sing a Zeppelin or motown song, you're in

Damn that is some voice.

Not to leave you hanging: Not the best, but one of the most memorable for it's Simon Cowell put down:

Is it just me, or were they kind of cruel as hell to her at the end?

They praised her singing but were out of line saying everyone was shocked and rooting against her. They did everything but say, "nobody thought a frumpy old cow could sing that good.

She's had her ups and downs since then, but that performance is what she's known for now. She's amazing.

I agree about the snotty attitude, but she handled it well. They did it again years later with this young man:

It's a bit of a stretch, but here's 18-year-old Akiko Suwanai at the Tchaikovsky Competition slaying the Tchaikovsky Concerto:

Not a stretch by "talent" at all, only a stretch due to the meagre pool of talent that appears on network "talent" shows. Unfortunately, today's Americans also don't have the taste to appreciate a string instrument virtuoso unless it's Charlie Daniels playing at a rally.

Obscure one from the rock star INXS show hosted by Brooke Burke and this guy finished 2nd to a guy who wasn’t as good but sounded more like INXS former lead and went on to tour with them. He kills the end at 2:55 in.

Nothing like the Lenny Bruce of later infamy. The great thing about this recording is Lenny's mom was his "talent agent" and introduced him to Godfrey. Knowing Bruce's legacy, that is unexpected.

Here's the second performance from that kid I posted earlier in this thread.

I think she's got a decent shot at winning the whole thing this year.

Looks like she got a dance coach. The first video was incredible, but she looked like she needed seasure medication.
